COUNTRY WESTERN….AS IT SHOULD BE

Liberty Opry

Liberty Opry

Country Western music as it should be. I don’t know about you, but I’ve come to expect a great show every week at the Liberty Opry, and I’ve never been disappointed. Each guest performer always has something different to share with us, Jerry Locke & Booger Lee put a smile in our hearts, and the Liberty Opry band is like a beautiful chameleon. Now don’t laugh, but any band can be a cute green lizard, it takes a special band to be able to change itself each week as needed. Heck, sometimes they change several times in one show. They play gospel, country, western swing, rock ‘n roll, pop, Cajun, & more. Let’s give a BIG hand to the band! Moses Rangel, have you heard him before? If so you know how smooth that voice of his is. Listening to Blue Spanish Eyes is as good as eating a Godiva chocolate truffle. Moses, do come back again soon.

We had a brand new guest last night, Stacey Stark who has a powerful voice and a great stage presence, is from Portland, TX, near Corpus Christi. She shared the stage with her son Ryan singing an old Hank Williams song from 1951,” Hey Good Lookin’”. Ryan is in the 6th grade, and his brother Levi, 14 is an up & coming fiddle player who also entertained us . A very talented young family! Sherry Novosad grew up in La Porte, TX and has been a partner of the Opry since 2011. She shared her love of singing last night, gracing the stage for the 2nd time. She sang the favorite, “Texas When I Die” while handing out Texas label pins. Welcome back Sherry. NEXT WEEK: TRIBUTE TO OLD TIME ROCK N ROLL, come listen to the chameleon when it’s rock n rollin’!
