SATURDAY – JANUARY 12, 2019 – 2 PM – SONGS OF SUSANNA and THE RUNAWAY SCRAPE – No Charge

SPECIAL EVENT presented by the Liberty County Historical Commission – NO CHARGE

Featuring:  Fletcher Clark, songwriter & Donaly E Brice, author/historian

With song, verse, and lecture, author/historian Donaly Brice and songwriter Fletcher Clark offer programs which bring to life these chapters in Texas history.

In SONGS OF SUSANNA, Fletcher’s epic ballad, There Must Be A Good Man in Texas, tells the panoramic tale of Susanna Dickinson (messenger of the Alamo) – in itself a microcosm of the emergence of Texas.  The scholarly insight of Brice further probes the life of this great Texas heroine.

RUNAWAY SCRAPE recounts the frenzied citizen flight before the advancing forces of cruel Santa Anna, ending with victory at San Jacinto and the capture and surrender of the tyrant.

“The stories, poems and music truly bring history to life!” (Krissy Sralla, Jane Wells Woods Chapter /DRT

“Clark and Brice working together is indeed a delight” Chuck Parsons, author/historian
