Calvin & Trish Gainey

Calvin:  Keyboard & Vocals       Trish:  Lead and Backup Vocals

Trish, born June 16, was raised in the Dallas area and began singing in her Grandfather’s church as a young girl, developing her background in Southern Gospel Music.  As a young adult, she began performing at various Opry’s and Branson style shows around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, while finding her own, unique performance style.  After being called to the ministry, Trish was brought back to her first love of sharing the gospel of Jesus through music.

Calvin, born November 19, in McKinney, Texas, has studied music at UNLV, Tyler Junior College, and Almeda University and holds a BA in Music Education.  Calvin started ‘banging around’ on his father’s old Fender Rhodes piano at the age of 4.  He started ‘serious’ piano lessons, from his dad, around the age of 5.  From piano, he learned several other instruments, such as the guitar, bass guitar, drums, violin and saxophone.  While living in Las Vegas, Calvin took piano lessons from Hal Steach, a former pianist for Elvis, Glen Campbell, The Platters and Frank Sinatra, Jr.  Calvin made his first dollar playing in a VFW in Las Vegas, singing “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin On”.  Jerry Lee Lewis was definitely one of his biggest piano-styling influences along with many other rock, blues, country, and jazz artists.  When Calvin’s family moved back to Texas, he began performing on the local opry circuits, such as the Mesquite, Wylie, and Garland Opry’s.

In 2000, while on staff at Rodeo City Music Hall in Mesquite, he met Trish, who was also an entertainer in the same show.  They began singing and performing together throughout the Dallas area and performed with such acts as Hank Thompson, Johnny Rodriguez, Freddy Hart, to name a few.  In 2001, Calvin and Trish felt they were being called to use their gifts and talents for the Lord.  Within a few months, Calvin was offered a staff position playing keyboards at Cottonwood Church in Frisco, Texas, one of the largest and fastest growing churches in the area.  Soon after, they became the music ministers for Trish’s grandfather’s church in Madisonville, Texas and ministered at many other churches and revivals, singing Southern and Country Gospel music.  In 2006 they became the worship leaders at Eastgate Church in Dayton, Texas, and Family Faith Church, Coldspring, Texas.  In 2009, they released their first gospel CD which includes seven original worship songs, entitled “How You Love Me”.  In 2011, Calvin and Trish performed at the Liberty Opry as guest stars on one of the Gospel shows.  Soon after, they became permanent members of the show.

Calvin and Trish married in 2001 and have three beautiful children; Gabrielle, Machaela and Christian.
